Community Memorial Service and Cemetery Walk

Community members who have friends, family members and ancestors buried at the Roseville Cemetery (Detweiler Meetinghouse) in Roseville, are invited to a brief service of remembrance in the beautifully restored 1855 meetinghouse followed by an opportunity to tour the cemetery.

Stiff Family Singers

The Stiff Family Singers from Wellesley, Ontario, havebeen singing and playing together as a family since the fall of 2013. In the Bluegrass tradition the play acoustic stringed instruments that include banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and upright bass.

Join us for this new Gospel Bluegrass event. A freewill offering in support of Meetinghouse operations will be held. Everyone welcome.

Stiff Family Singers

Folk and Gospel Song Event

Mike and Diana Erb will present a combination of folk and gospel music; there will be some group singing as well. Mike and Diana live in New Hamburg, and are well known in the local music scene. Diana is an artist by profession, and has exhibited on numerous occasions. Mike Erb is a singer/songwriter who has worked in New York City and Nashville.

Central Ontario All-Day Sacred Harp Singing

This is a traditional singing from The Sacred Harp, 1991 edition (the “Denson Book). Singers and listeners are welcome to attend. We will hold dinner on the grounds. Ontario singers are requested to bring plenty of ready-to-serve food to share. (There are no warming facilities.)

Life in the Detweiler Neighbourhood, 150 Years Ago

Gather meetinghouse-style on the Detweiler benches as they did 150 years ago, and hear historian and author Sam Steiner's overview of life and faith among the Mennonite settlers in this part of Waterloo Region. Followed by a Q&A session. Illustrated books covering some of this history will be for sale at the book table.

The meetinghouse will be open for Doors Open visitors from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sixth Annual Male Chorus Sing

Welcome to all former male quartet or chorus and want-to-be members. Sing the old gospel songs and anthems from music will be provided. All male singers who enjoy singing traditional male music are invited.

Led by Laverne Martin, Charles Kruger and Laverne Brubacher.

A freewill offering in support of Meetinghouse operations will be held. Everyone welcome.

Fifth Annual Welcoming Advent

Featuring the music of Lifted Voices, from First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. Some of the music will have a particular Advent theme.
