The Sounds of Spring

Bluebird is a Guelph-based a cappella barbershop quartet. They have performed as guests of A Cappella Showcase, The Over Tones, Inc., Downtown Acton BIA, Stonehenge Therapeutic Centre, and Downtown Guelph RBC Noon Hour Concert Series. They will be joined by the Fiddlestix String Quartet from Rockway Mennonite Collegiate.

A freewill offering in support of Meetinghouse operations will be held. Everyone welcome.

Bluebird

Community Memorial Service

Community members who have friends, family members and ancestors buried at the Roseville Cemetery (Detweiler Meetinghouse) in Roseville, are invited to a brief service.of remembrance in the beautifully restored 1855 meetinghouse followed by an opportunity to tour the cemetery. The service will be led by Pastor Scott Brubaker-Zehr of Rockway Mennonite Church in Kitchener and Pastor Randy Magnus of the Roseville United Brethren Church.

A freewill offering in support of Meetinghouse operations will be held. Everyone welcome.

North Dumfries Historical Preservation Society

This annual meeting of the society will be held at Detweiler Meetinghouse, and will feature a presentation by Sam Steiner on the history of the Detweiler Meetinghouse and the Mennonites of North Dumbries Township. Sam is author of In Search of Promised Lands: a Religious History of Mennonites in Ontario. To reserve tickets for the event contact the North Dumfries Historical Preservation Society.

Gospel Song Fest

The singing will be led by Bob Shantz, former choral director at Rockway Mennonite Collegiate, and others and will be based on Life Songs II, a popular hymnbook in (Old) Mennonite churches in past decades.  Bring your Life Songs #2  if you own one.

A freewill offering in support of replacing the meetinghouse's roof will be held. Everyone welcome.

The Fair Wind

The Fair Wind sings and plays acoustically, the traditional music of England, Ireland and Scotland. Comprised of Carole Pines, Ruth Shushan, Mark Pancer and Bob Mino, they treat listeners to traditional songs, jigs, and reels, mined from the rich heritage of the British Isles and Ireland.

The Fair Wind

Central Ontario All-Day Sacred Harp Singing

This is a traditional singing from The Sacred Harp, 1991 edition (the “Denson Book). Singers and listeners are welcome to attend. We will hold dinner on the grounds. Ontario singers are requested to bring plenty of ready-to-serve food to share. (There are no warming facilities.) Doors Open

We will again be participating in the Waterloo Region Doors Open program. Visit us to learn the history of this unique 1855 stone Mennonite meetinghouse and the accompanying cemetery.

Rescue Junction

Come to hear this Rescue award winning Canadian bluegrass band based in Ontario that has been travelling and singing together since 2009. Originally comprised of brother and sister, Kyle & Kaitlyn Gerber on mandolin and guitar respectively, the band has grown to include Roger Martin on banjo, Dallas Roth on upright bass and Nick Huber on dobro.

Christmas Music With Lifted Voices (This Event is Cancelled)

We welcome again this group of women who will usher us into the 2019 Christmas season with a variety of Christmas music.
